SPARROWS COFFEE
Sparrows has been a fixture on the Grand Rapids coffee scene since 2007, when Lori Slager Wenzel opened the original Wealthy Street location as a coffee, tea, and newsstand rolled into one.
Their location on Plainfield is a bright, modern space full of brass accents, green tile, and garage style doors that open right up on a nice day. Wherever you catch them, the coffee is thoughtfully sourced and the vibe is the same: community minded, welcoming, and genuinely good.
If you want a coffee shop that feels like part of the neighborhood rather than a chain, put Sparrows on your list. Nearly two decades in, it is still one of the best cups in town.
